Recipient Rights Booklets

The Mental Health Code states that Community Mental Health Service Providers are required to distribute the “Your Rights When Receiving Mental Health Services in Michigan” booklet to each consumer receiving services.

Cost: 100 books – $81.00 shipping not included


Payment: Electronic payment is required at time of purchase. Check payment and purchase orders are no longer accepted, no exceptions.


Packaging: Recipient Rights booklets are packaged and shipped in boxes of 200, but may be ordered in quantities of 100. Example: 700 booklets = three boxes of 200, plus one box of 100.


Shipping: To align with the pricing structure of our print company, shipping will be offered at a flat rate of $15.00 per pack of 100 copies. This change reflects the minimum shipping fee charged by the distribution provider. Books generally arrive within 3-5 business days of order date. Example: 7 packs (700 books) X $15 = $105 for shipping and handling costs. 


Non-Stapled: In order to support broader access and purchasing eligibility, the Recipient Rights booklet will be offered only in a non-stapled format. Discontinuing the stapled option will allow all organizations the ability to purchase and distribute the booklet without restriction.


Personalization: In accordance with MDHHS guidance, Recipient Rights booklets will be provided in a standardized format and will not include personalization or organizational contact information. While personalization has been a longstanding practice it is no longer statutorily required.


Available Formats: The Recipient Rights booklet is available to download as a PDF in English, Spanish, and Arabic, and by podcast for listening, on the MDHHS website. Printed copies through CMHA are available in English only. Translated editions of the 2023 version are also available in Spanish and Arabic.
