A Compliance Officer directly participates in the implementation of a Corporate Compliance Program that effectively prevents, detects, and corrects violations of law or policy. Compliance Officers maintain primary responsibility for the investigation of complaints and allegations of misconduct that are reported to the Compliance Department.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
-Under the guidance of the Chief Compliance Officer and the Compliance Committee, collaborates with members of the Corporate Compliance Department and other departments (i.e. Human Resources, IT Security, Finance and Operations) to implement day-to-day operations of Centria’s Corporate Compliance Program.
-Under the direction of the Compliance Investigations Manager, collaborates with members of the Compliance Investigations Team to evaluate and investigate alleged violations of laws, regulations, policies, and Centria’s Code of Conduct.
-Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to enforcement and/or regulatory agencies as appropriate or required by law.
-Trains and mentors new Compliance Officers regarding Centria’s Compliance Investigations Process (when applicable).
-Collaborates with the Department’s Internal Audit Team to conduct site audits that identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and risks, and develop plans to correct problematic issues.
-Conducts desk audits of company processes and internal controls (such as billing audits and documentation reviews) as directed by Department leadership.
-Assists in the development of Compliance Policies and Procedures, and implements steps to measure and improve the effectiveness of the Corporate Compliance Program
-Develops and implements Compliance awareness initiatives and projects as directed by Department leadership.
-Completes continuing education to maintain a current knowledge base of new or evolving laws, regulations or rules effecting the healthcare industry, and trends or best practices of the compliance profession.
-All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:
-Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related or business-related field of study is required.
-Familiarity and experience with federal and state regulations and standards for the provision of healthcare services to federal healthcare beneficiaries.
-Knowledge and experience in internal investigations and reporting requirements
-Outpatient and/or community-based behavioral health care experience (clinical, operational, or health care management) is preferred.
-Compliance certification such as Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and/or other healthcare industry related credential is preferred.

Working Conditions:
Centria’s office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am-6:00pm. Additional time may be required to complete above work or meet company objectives.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, physical requirements such as bending, reaching and lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. This role will require sitting a majority of the day as well as walking as standing when needed. This role will require close visual activity on multiple computer screens or monitors and the ability to analyze data and figures on a screen.
