Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment services. Serving the community since 1971, HHI offers a wide range of behavioral health programs and primary care services to individuals of all ages, emphasizing recovery, resilience, and improved quality of life.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Children’s Mental Health Residential Program Manager to lead our residential treatment program for children. This role requires a leader committed to fostering a safe, supportive environment that promotes healing and growth. The Program Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts to deliver exceptional care tailored to each child’s needs. The Program Manager serves as the Chief Administrator in accordance with the state of Michigan licensing rules.

REQUIREMENTS:

– Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) Degree specializing in social work, counseling, or related field.
– Two years experience for a Master’s Degree OR four years experience for a Bachelor’s Degree in a child caring institution (CCI).
– LMSW, LPC or equivalent issued by LARA preferred.
– 24-hour on-call coverage and ability to work flexible hours as needed.
– Knowledge of diagnostics, psychopharmacology, co-occurring disorders and supportive individual and group treatment approaches.
– Understanding of evidence-based practices with children.
– CPS Clearance prior to beginning employment.
– Strong leadership skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Service
– Provide direct care services, including psychosocial history at intake, treatment planning, individual and group psycho-educational and supportive therapy and discharge planning.
Staff Management
– Interview, hire and onboard new staff.
– Ensure all discipline work schedules are complete.
– Orient new staff to clinical, operational and safety policies and procedures, including utilization of the EHR.
– Ensure that all staff complete required training and are skilled to identify and manage clinical risk.
– Work with Nurse Manager to ensure youth receive required nursing services and problem solve solutions for any identified challenges as needed.
– Set clear expectations for staff performance per position and address staff performance/behavior.
– Provide performance coaching and implement workable solutions to identified problems. Recommend innovative solutions to operational system issues impacting staff’s ability to meet expectations.
– Serve as the on-call back-up in the event of staff absence.
– Monitor staff delivery of program activities per schedule to ensure compliance with plan.
Program Planning
– Responsible for assessing and proposing program improvements as needed in concert with Hegira Health to maximize access to services.
Administration
– Conduct a written assessment and verify the agency’s compliance with state rules and contract activities annually.
– Develop and implement a written plan to correct rule violations identified as a result of the assessment.
– Ensure all MDHHS reporting requirements are being met and completed timely.
– Complete and ensure that all admissions have documented authorization for services from the payor source for entire admission.
– Ensure that assignment of food ordering is completed as directed.
– Facilitate the completion of corrective actions required based on survey/audit findings.
– Ensure services are provided in a safe, clean, and secure environment.
– Encourage a cooperative working environment within and between staff disciplines.
