Behavior Specialist

We are the community Behavioral Health organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others.

The Behavior Specialist examines and provides remedial services for persons requiring behavioral interventions to improve a person’s ability to perform daily activities. Completes functional assessments, behavior plans, monitors behavior plans and provides training on behavior plans. Collaboration with clinical team and managing clinical consultation meetings to ensure positive outcomes. (H0031, H0032, H2000, S5111 and S5116 Medicaid billing codes)

This is full-time regularly scheduled position, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must have one of the two following:
Bachelor’s degree in human services related field (for example, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or Sociology) and meets qualification for a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional and/or Qualified Mental Health Professional (requires one-year full time experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness and appropriate license/degree per State of Michigan).
Two years full time experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Willingness to work toward credentialing as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
