Susan Svetcos, Board Member of the CMH for Central Michigan Board of Directors

This podcast was conducted at the CMHA Annual Summer Conference held on June 9th, 2026 at Grand Traverse Resort Hotel in Traverse City, Michigan. 

Susan Svetcos, Community Mental Health for Central Michigan, Board of Directors  member from Gladwin County, was becoming close to her brother who was in the Air Force when he left for military service. Along with other changes and challenges in her life, she experienced her first episode of depression. Susan matured using her energy to pursue her life’s dreams and goals. At a point, when she realized she would not be able to achieve these goals, she entered a rough part of her life. Susan during this interview is vulnerable, sharing her joy and sadness. Today, Susan enters a room with light and warmth which touches all who are in her presence.
