This podcast was conducted at the CMHA Annual Summer Conference held on June 9th, 2026 at Grand Traverse Resort Hotel in Traverse City, Michigan. 

Shannon Schafer, Director of the Hamtramck Drug Free Community Coalition (HDFCC), enthusiastically presented at the CMHA Summer Conference on “The Michigan Opioid Crisis: Responding with Naloxone.” HDFCC is a program of the Piast Institute, a nonprofit partially funded by the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN). HDFCC focuses on substance use prevention by bringing educational programming into schools and engaging students in taking an active role in prevention efforts. The coalition also supports a welcoming center dedicated to serving and connecting with the community.
