Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Works in conjunction with the Clinical Director and Director of Youth Services to coordinate the services and programming of a home-based Therapeutic Foster Care initiative for children and their families. Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) was developed as an alternative to institutional, residential, and group care placements for children and youth with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. The two main aims of TFCO is to create opportunities for youth to successfully live in a family setting and to simultaneously help parents (or other long-term family resource) to provide effective parenting. Specific responsibilities of the TFCO Team Lead will include direct clinical oversight of these mental health foster placements; supervision of the treatment staff, assisting with recruitment efforts as well as compiling program data and evaluation. This position is initially grant funded and may include an on call rotation. Shall be self-directed and resourceful. Must demonstrate excellent organizational, verbal/written communication, computer, analytical and problem-solving activities. Maintains confidentiality and privacy within MDHHS, state and federal guidelines. Utilizes knowledge of CARF, CMS, and MDHHS. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications and Capabilities:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field from an accredited college/university required with licensure in the State of Michigan.
At least one year of providing clinical supervision within a behavioral healthcare setting.
Two years experience in providing clinical services to youth and families with severe emotional disturbances. Provision of community based services strongly encouraged.
One year of computer experience – Word, Excel, and electronic medical record preferred.
Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance check and verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record. An individual may be excluded from consideration based upon their driving record.

This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support 1)culturally competent, recovery-based practices; 2)person-centered planning as a shared decision making process with the individual, who defines his/her own life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and 3)a trauma informed culture to aid individuals in their recovery process.

A trauma-informed approach to service delivery emphasizes physical and emotional safety, choice, empowerment, and trustworthiness for customers. The impact of trauma is broad and touches many life domains. Participation is mandatory for activities required for Summit Pointe to become a “Trauma Informed System of Care.”

Professional office environment that generates noise from computer equipment/peripherals.
Possible exposure to health risks (violence and infectious diseases).
Sometimes lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 25 lbs.
May be required to work variable hours/shifts.
