Children’s Center of Wayne County (TCC) is home to specialized clinical, foster care, and support services. We lead the way in working with children who struggle with behavioral, emotional, educational, intellectual, and developmental challenges. We treat the whole child, focusing on multiple family issues so we can provide the best, most comprehensive integrated care. Job Summary
Provide trauma informed psychiatric services to children and youth of The Children’s Center using evidence-based medical practices within a person centered-framework. Service is aligned with regulations, best practice in care, quality assurance and TCCs Mission, Vision, Values, and organizational strategy.
Job Requirements

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse and certified from MI State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner and ANA/ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Contract with TCC Medical Director for ongoing oversight of all psychiatric services provided
• Experince in diagnosing and treating children and adolescents with mental health and intellectual developmental disabilities preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary clinical team
• Knowledge of Medicaid guidelines.
• Ability to work from a systems perspective.
• Impeccable integrity and ethical standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong documentation ability.
• Proficient in Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation and electronic prescribing.
• Strong team player

Essential Functions

• Report to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations
• Comply with all agency policies and procedures
• Provide patient centered care – ensure client voice and choice is included in treatment, encourage and support participation in clinical services, provide referrals to internal and external ancillary services geared towards whole health improvement, including social, emotional, mental, and physical health
• Successfully engage clients, both in person and via telehealth sessions
• Provide psychiatric services, including initial evaluations, re-evaluations, ongoing medication management
• Performs health assessments, order, review, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, coordinate care with internal and external healthcare providers
• Complete and support patient completion of clinically relevant health questionnaires and clinical screenings
• Provides health education to patients, families and/or community health practitioners and groups.
• Complete all billing and clinical documentation in a timely manner and according to current TCC policies and procedures
• Comply with Legal Requirements, including:
o All applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations, as well as licensure requirements
o All applicable standards of accrediting agencies, including the Council on Accreditation (COA); and
o All applicable standards, guidelines, rules, and regulations established from time to time by the Detroit-Wayne Integrated Health Network (“DWIHN”); the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (“MDHHS”); the Medicaid program, other Center funding sources and third-party payers and TCC
• Complete all required psychiatric reports and other documentation required by professional standards, TCC, or any of its funding sources, including, but not limited to DWIHN, MDHHS, Medicaid and third-party payers
• Participate in monthly case conferences with treatment team members to review status of individual clients and provide treatment recommendations. Participate in client related root cause analysis and case consultations as needed
• Provide training and development to TCC’s clinical staff, as needed
• Respond to subpoenas and other legal inquiries, as necessary
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and agency records in accordance with applicable laws regulations, and policies of TCC

Key Performance Indicators
• No show rate less than 20%
• 80% of calendar filled with billable appointments
• 10% of time spent conducting care coordination activities
• No substantiated Recipient Rights complaints
• No more than 1 formal grievance per calendar year
• 90% chart review compliance

Physical Requirements
• Mobility-non-residential:  Ability to maneuver between offices, campus buildings and applicable offsite locations to perform and participate in daily work and applicable special event locations.  
• Administrative Work: Ability to tolerate exposure to computer screen and operate computer/keyboard and other office equipment on a frequent and/or continuous basis.  
• Communication: Ability to receive and exchange information and accurately and effectively communicate and converse with others.  
• Provide Instruction: Ability to convey detailed instructions or ideas accurately.  
• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 15 Lbs.  
• Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods of time.   

Other
• Fulfill the twenty-four (24) hours per year training in child mental health as required by MDHHS and the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) as well as other agency and county mandated trainings; plus, the completion of a minimum of seven (7) CME hours in Pediatric Psychopharmacology every other calendar year.
• Maintain professional license to practice medicine in the state of Michigan and active board certification.
• Regular working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m.
• Ability to work flexible hours Monday through Friday, including evenings, as needed to accommodate the needs of consumers and the organization.
• Performing other duties as directed or as necessary.
