General Summary:

As a Grant Accountant you will perform grant accounting functions and tasks at the direction of the accounting manager, finance director, and/or Chief Financial Officer. Functions and tasks will include 1) Preparation of grant budgets, 2) analysis of grant account balances, 2) preparing correcting journal entries as needed to correct account balances, 3) preparation of routine monthly, quarterly and annual closing entries, 4) preparing monthly and/or quarterly cash draws and financial reports, 5) assist the accounting manager, finance director, and/or CFO in preparation for annual audits, and 6) other duties as assigned by the accounting manager, finance director, or CFO.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and two or more years’ experience with federal grants. An excellent understanding and knowledge of grant accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

Able to successfully work in a remote work environment including promoting a sense of teamwork and collaboration with a team that also works remotely.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working Knowledge of 2 CFR 200
Experience with Michigan’s EGRAMS system
Experience with the Federal Payment Management System (PMS)
CPA or CGFM Certification
Experience with Mental Health and SUD related grants
Experience with School District related grants
