If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Supervisor Programs – Emergency Mental Health (EMH) Department.

What You Will Be Doing
Working as a Supervisor Programs – EMH you will be responsible for supervising the assigned staff in the emergency mental health department providing services to adult consumers. You will review service authorization decisions, utilizing defined criteria, to ensure that consumers are receiving the right combination of services to meet their needs and achieve identified outcomes including both same day access and emergency mental health services. In this position, you may assist with client assessment of mental health and/or substance use treatment needs, diagnosing and documenting in client case records accordingly. You will assist in providing supervision and coverage for 24-hour services, both as a clinical supervisor and providing support and coordination to community agencies as needed. This role includes working during variable shifts, including evenings. You will also attend meetings within the agency and with other stakeholders to ensure quality of care.
This is a grant funded position currently funded through 09/30/2026.

What We Require
You will have a master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology and a minimum of five years’ experience working with adults with substance abuse disorders, severe mental illnesses and/or co-occurring disorders. Two years administrative and supervisory experience in a mental health setting is preferred. You will need a valid Michigan Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Limited License Psychologist (LLP) is required. Applicants with limited licensure will be considered and are encouraged to apply. A Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) is preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
