Patient Registration Specialist
Clerical Administrative; Full Time, 2nd and 3rd Shift Positions Available
Minimum Starting Salary: $19.95/hr

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Patient Registration Specialist! There are multiple openings on 2nd and 3rd shifts with weekend rotations & shift premiums!
What You Will Be Doing
Working as a Patient Registration Specialist you will be responsible for completing client pre-registration and real-time registration. This includes accurately capturing client demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record; verifying client insurance benefits and eligibility; assisting clients with completion of the CCBHC Sliding Fee Scale Income Verification and/or Ability to Pay form. You will be responsible for communicating financial responsibility to clients; collecting co-payments; scheduling client appointments with clinician paneled with the client’s insurance; balance daily charges and prepare daily deposit; and answer telephones. This position will rotate between ISK clinic offices (located within the city of Kalamazoo).
What We Require
A Patient Registration Specialist is required to have a High School diploma, or GED, and two years’ experience in patient/client registration; Superior customer service; Ability to recognize and prioritize urgent or emergent care needs; ability to work variable shifts including evenings; rotate to different ISK clinics; Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and human relation skills; and Advanced computer skills including accessing various insurance websites, word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
