Do you have a passion for providing confidential mental health and co-occurring counseling services in the community and in an outpatient setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a full time (40 hrs/wk) Outpatient Therapist with our NAVIGATE team.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Outpatient Therapist with our NAVIGATE team, you will be responsible for performing face-to-face clinical interventions on a multidisciplinary treatment team. NAVIGATE is a comprehensive program designed to provide early and effective treatment to individuals aged 15-30 who have experienced a first episode of psychosis within the past 18 months. Individual Resiliency Training “IRT” Clinicians provide specialized therapeutic interventions and follow a modular-based regimen, helping individuals identify and enhance their strengths and resiliency factors, increase their illness management skills, and learn skills to increase their success in achieving personal goals. The NAVIGATE team provides services in the community, home, and office setting.
In addition to supporting NAVIGATE clients, you will manage and serve a small caseload of individuals served in the Adult Outpatient Program. This is a grant funded position with funding currently through 09/30/2023.
What We Require
You will be a master’s level licensed professional with a minimum of one year of experience, three years strongly preferred. You will have extensive knowledge of the DSM V diagnostic criteria, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, evidence-based and promising practice interventions, and familiarity with psychotropic medications, experience with involuntary hospitalization procedures and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will have considerable knowledge of brief solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, personality development, diagnosis, different treatment theories and techniques, such as insight-oriented therapy, interpersonal therapy, reality therapy, and value clarification. You will have a CAADC or ability to secure a CAADC with a development plan through MCBAP and a LMSW/LLMSW, LPC/LLPC, or LLP.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
