AuSable Valley Community Mental Health is seeking the right candidate to serve as an Outpatient Therapist out of the Mio Office. The Outpatient Therapist has the specific duties of providing psychiatric emergency services that will include: triage, crisis intervention and stabilization, referral and assessment for all adult consumers of mental health services. It is essential that staff work within a team framework and demonstrates willingness to work with others. Staff will be able to correctly triage (utilizing available assessment methods) and report to agency psychiatrist and other team members the consumer’s mental health status and planned course of action as well as be responsible for Access in which they will be responsible for pre-screening to determine eligibility for services (adult and children). Staff will develop and complete intake assessments; person centered planning, individual and group therapy. The Outpatient therapist is responsible for consumers receiving timely access to quality care in the most clinically appropriate, least restrictive environment and in the most caring, sensitive and confidential manner possible. The Outpatient therapist is responsible for the management of an individual caseload of consumers, fidelity to evidence-based practices, and collaboration amongst referral sources. They must also possess the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team modality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as computer proficiency, are necessary for success.

Credentials: Minimum qualification for Outpatient Therapist is a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and be licensed by the State of Michigan in their relative field as a full license (LMSW) or Limited License (LLMSW) or Masters in Counseling (licenses include LPC and LLPC).

Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout the Board’s coverage area and, at times, around different areas of the state. Possession of a driver’s license valid in the State of Michigan, vehicle insurance as required by Michigan Law, and a good driving record; be a U.S. Citizen or have possession of necessary papers allowing holder to work legally within the United States.

A Pre-Employment Background Check will be conducted in the following areas: Criminal (Both State and Federal Finger Printing), Driving, Educational and Employment record verifications/inquiries.
