Description: Under the supervision of a Mental Health Program Director and in conjunction with the Medical Director, program coordinator will lead a clinical team providing nursing and medication services to people with serious mental illnesses, co-occurring substance use disorders, developmental disorders or children with serious emotional disturbances. Individual must have strong leadership, fiscal management and teaming skills; exceptional nursing and organizational skills; commitment to recovery; exceptional knowledge of evidence-based practices; strong collaboration skills to work with physicians, pharmacists and all teams; and ability to monitor outcomes effectively.
Duties: Full-time position as Health and Medication Services program coordinator serving primarily adults with serious mental illness and substance use disorders, but also nursing services to people with developmental disabilities and children with serious emotional disturbances. Individual needs to supervise staff effectively; provide nursing skills and coordinate effectively with psychiatrists; facilitate integration of care for consumers; manage medication inventories and storage; promote and implement evidence-based interventions; monitor outcomes; manage finances; and collaborate with community agencies.
Qualifications: Minimum requirement of Associate’s degree in Nursing or equivalent. Possession of Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Michigan required. Minimum three years experience as a psychiatric nurse, providing clinical services and medical case coordination. Knowledge and experience in leadership and supervisory roles preferred. Valid MI driver’s license required. Some evening hours may be required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years in psychiatric nursing providing services to people with serious mental illness, preferably in a community mental health setting. Prior supervisory and leadership experience is highly preferred. Experience in working with electronic medical records required. Ability to work as part of a team of professionals in a public mental health setting required.
