AuSable Valley Community Mental Health Authority has many opportunities for those looking to make a difference in the lives of our community members by providing beneficial and cost-effective services to our consumers. AVCMHA provides State funded public mental health services to Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda counties in northern Michigan. Services are provided to people with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (I/DD), a Serious Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), and/or those who may be Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED).

Responsible for the supervision and leadership of all staff in the care management programs working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Major functions of this position include oversight of department staff, assessment, services plan development, linking and coordinating services. Additionally, the care management supervisor will ensure staff have the resources and knowledge to assist individuals on their recovery journey including access to needed medical, social, educational, therapeutic and other services as needed. The supervisor maintains a limited active caseload while also monitoring the provision of services by care management staff. Support strategies will incorporate the principals of empowerment, community inclusion, health and safety assurance, and the use of natural supports. Persons with lived experience with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance use disorders are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout the Board’s coverage area and, at times, around different areas of the state. Possession of a driver’s license valid in the State of Michigan, vehicle insurance as required by Michigan Law, and a good driving record; be a U.S. Citizen or have possession of necessary papers allowing holder to work legally within the United States.

A Pre-Employment Background Check will be conducted in the following areas: Criminal (Both State and Federal Finger Printing), Driving, Educational and Employment record verifications/inquiries.
