*REQUIRED: Thorough understanding of the LOCUS & Completion of MDHHS approved LOCUS Train-the-Trainer.

This workshop is designed for those individuals who currently or will be providing LOCUS training, coaching, and/or mentoring.  Focus is on helping participants to enhance their skills as a LOCUS trainer while identifying skill building opportunities and activities within their trainings.  Participants will have the opportunity to develop or work on a Training Plan for their organizations to assist with LOCUS integration.  Time will be provided for questions and problem-solving.

  1. Understand the nuances of teaching adult learners.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the differences of reliability, fidelity, competency, and other related terms.
  3. Demonstrate five skills related to training environment and classroom management.
  4. Learn six training methods that can be used when teaching LOCUS content.
  5. Demonstrate use of 2-3 training methods using LOCUS content.
  6. Walk away with draft training plan ideas unique to their agency

CEUs Social Workers: Each course qualifies for a maximum of 6.0 Continuing Education hours. The Community Mental Health Association is an approved provider with the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative. Approved Provider Number: MICEC 060818.
Certificate Awarded: At the conclusion of this conference, turn in your Certificate of Attendance form to the CMHAM Staff to be approved. You will turn in the top sheet & retain the bottom sheet which serves as your certificate. No other certificate will be given.

Evaluation/Grievance: There will be an opportunity for each participant to complete an evaluation of the course and the instructor. Substance Abuse Professionals: CMHAM is approved by Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). CMHAM maintains the responsibility for the program and content. Substance Abuse Professionals participating in these trainings may receive a maximum of 6.0 (related) contact hours. Some "Related" workshops may meet MCBAP/IC&RC educational requirements for focused topics in addiction certification domains, such as for Peer Recovery or Supervisor credentials. It is important that attendees keep a copy of the conference program brochure containing the workshop descriptions along with their attendance record form.
Cancellation Policy Cancellation Policy: While there is no fee for this event, we request written cancellation notice 10 business days before event ( if you find that you are unable to attend once you have registered. Cancellation and Substitution Process: Simply sign into your account, click "View My Registrations," click the event and click, "Edit" for a substitution, or "Cancel Order" and follow the prompts.
